Become an Energy Champion – Online Briefing (40 Minutes)

Support your community. Spot the signs. Connect people with help.

Join a free, practical online briefing to become an Energy Champion — someone who can recognise when someone is struggling with energy costs and help them get the right support quickly.

This short session is run by Citizens Advice Essex, working in partnership with Citizens Advice offices across the East of England. Together, we help thousands of people each year with advice on energy bills, heating, debt, housing and more.

What You'll Learn

In just 40 minutes, this friendly online session will give you:

• A clear understanding of what fuel poverty looks like in real life
• The confidence to spot signs someone may be struggling
• Simple ways to start the conversation

Who Can Become an Energy Champion?

This session is ideal for anyone who works or volunteers with the public, including:

• Teachers, TAs, and school pastoral staff
• Health visitors, nurses, and care workers
• Housing and support officers
• Food bank volunteers, warm space coordinators
• Library, youth and early years staff
• Faith group leaders and community volunteers
• Anyone in a trusted role supporting people day to day

If you regularly support others and want to help people stay warm and well, this session is for you.
