Introduction To Sexual Health and Condom Distribution Schemes

This is a half day training course, running from 9:30-1:30. After completing the training, participants will be able to distribute condoms as part of the Come Correct and The Free Condom Project Schemes.

AIM: At the end of the training participants will have an increased knowledge of sexual health issues and will have explored and practiced how to incorporate sexual health and the distribution of condoms within their current roles.

OUTCOMES - Participants will:

  • Gain knowledge about the local and national trends in STIs, teenage pregnancy, and HIV.
  • Have gained knowledge and understanding of sexual health issues. Core topics include STIs, HIV, condoms and other barrier contraception, other contraceptives and sex and the law.
  • Understand how COVID has impacted Sexual Health - particularly services who work with people living with HIV (this section delivered by Positive East).
  • Learn to do a condom demonstration.
  • Have increased confidence in communicating with people about sexual health, condom use and exploring attitudes towards sex.
  • Understand the barriers that discourage people from accessing sexual health services and how we can ensure the services are young people friendly.
  • Be able to participate in the delivery of condom schemes within their roles.

COST -  The training is free to all professionals working in Hackney & City. This is under the strict condition that professionals trained would, in return, provide the Come Correct/TFCP condom distribution schemes. Failure to  be set up to provide the condom distribution schemes after training will result in a charge for the training.  If you are a professional working outside of Hackney & The City there will be a charge for attendance. Priority will be given to professionals working in Hackney & The City.

 Important Please Read Below:

*By buying tickets I accept and understand that training is free for professionals working in Hackney & The City, however there may be a £65 charge if I fail to attend without notice or do not give notice of non attendance at least one week before the training date. Furthermore I understand a £65 charge will also be incurred if I attend training but do not make reasonable efforts to be set up as a condom distribution outlet*
