Event description

Description

As part of the CityCo response to recent events in Manchester and London, the next Manchester F&B Network will give advice on counter terrorism awareness, and provide guidance on the training and intelligence available to support F&B operators in the city centre.

Our panel of experts will discuss how businesses can be better prepared for shocks to the city, and offer effective business continuity strategy. We will also highlight the latest crime trends affecting the sector, including organised crime, 'dine & dash', counterfeit currency and credit card fraud.

In challenging times, these briefings are intended to help build a secure sector, in a more resilient city. We hope that you can join us.

Our Speakers:

Kenneth will focus on counter terrorism awareness initiatives, Project Griffin and Project Argus. He will highlight the importance of being prepared, and discuss how training can help businesses to develop measures that help them prevent, handle and recover from the threat of a major incident. We will also hear the latest guidance on emergency response Run-Hide-Tell.

Vicky was previously the local authority lead for Programme Challenger, the Greater Manchester approach to tackling organised crime. Hannah works to raise awareness of human trafficking in Greater Manchester; the signs, trends, types and scale of the problem, in a pioneering role funded by Greater Manchester's Police and Crime Commissioner. They will discuss the impact of these issues on the sector and the city, and how to address them.

  • Richard Elliott: City Officer and
  • Rob Dyson, Business Crime Manager, CityCo

Richard and Rob work in partnership with businesses, community police, the council and other key agencies, to create a safe and secure city centre.
