Event description
With cities around the world declaring a climate emergency, how can government and industry collaborate more closely to protect society?

About this event

Cities consume over two-thirds of the world’s energy and account for more than 70% of global CO2 emissions and we have released half as much CO2 into the atmosphere since 2000 than in the 150 years prior.

This impact has had a long-lasting effect on the planet which will affect the lives of human communities, the future survival of many non-human species, and the health of the ecosystems on which we all rely.

With such drastic action required, it’s never been so critical for city leaders and industry to collaborate, and develop innovative approaches to mitigate the impact of climate change.

How can city leaders and industry work together to tackle climate change and make net-zero a reality? Join Nitrous and a panel of experts as we discuss how civic innovation can be utilised to generate citizen-centric cleantech.

Panel

Toby Knight, Investment Associate - BP LaunchPad

Aled Thomas, Innovation Lead - Climate KIC
