OBJECTIVES

This seminar will discuss the changes that the Civil Litigation (Expenses and Group Proceedings) (Scotland) Bill will introduce to current practice and procedure, including Damages Based Agreements, Qualified One Way Costs Shifting and group proceedings.

PARTICIPANTS

This seminar is aimed at solicitors and trainees working in Civil litigation law.

SPEAKER

Caroline Kelly is an Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury Law and also accredited by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers at Litigator level. She has specialised in Personal Injury work for over 15 years and deals with a wide range of cases including road traffic accidents, workplace claims, clinical negligence and slips and trips. As a Solicitor Advocate, she has Rights of Audience in the Court of Session and has experience of litigating both in the Court of Session and the Sheriff Court. Caroline has also tutored on the Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Dundee for over 10 years as a tutor on the Professional Communication course and as joint module organiser for the Personal Injury Elective.
