Event description

Description

Prospect is holding a seminar that will bring together representatives from branches across our membership working in defence. The seminar will focus on the importance of the civilian defence community to the UK economy and keeping us safe.

The defence sector supports thousands of good quality highly skilled jobs. Prospect has consistently argued for the need for a coherent industrial strategy to support the defence sector and the benefits it brings to our national and local economies.

In an increasingly uncertain world it is important that the UK continues to invest in our defence to maintain sovereign capacity and capability and support UK trade and investment.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Nia Griffiths - Shadow Secretary of State for Defence

  • Richard Berthon - Director Strategic Programmes MoD, will speak on the future of ship servicing and maintenance alongside a colleague from Navy Command

  • Paul Everitt – ADS Chief Executive Officer

  • Professor John Louth – Senior Research Fellow at RUSI

The seminar will be an opportunity for representatives and members to network, share information and best practice and identify key campaigning themes.

This event is free and is open to all Prospect members but is primarily aimed at those working in defence. Places are limited so if you wish to attend please register above.

If you wish to attend the event and have any special requirements (eg dietary/mobility) or if you will require overnight accommodation please contact bridget.lauder@prospect.org.uk
