Join us each week for professional dance classes led by Artistic Director, Bawren Tavaziva and the company artists. Techniques will include dance conditioning, Acro-flex, Soca-cise and Bawren's unique African, Contemporary and Ballet dance fusion.

The Sweat Series for Dancers led by Asmara Cammock
Inspired by the high energy of Caribbean carnivals which draws inspiration from West Indian and West African dance as well as drawing inspiration from West Indian Crop Over traditional dances. The class aims to increase each participants musical understanding, flexibility, stamina and groove, through undulations, hip rotations and repetition. Together we will work on developing our own individual understanding of African and Caribbean rhythms, on lengthening our use of breath, on connecting our breath to increasing our stamina. The class over all with be a blended mixture of these dance inspirations.

When participating in any exercise or dance program, there is the possibility of physical injury. Tavaziva strongly advises doing your own warm-up before you start any of our classes, ensure that you are fit and well enough to take part and are doing so in a safe environment. If you engage in this dance series, you agree that you do so at your own risk, are voluntarily participating in these activities and assume all risk of injury to yourself.
Tavaziva was established in 2004 and is led by Zimbabwean-born Bawren Tavaziva. His unique style is a choreographic synthesis of ballet, contemporary and African dance.
Based in London with a national reach, the company also prides itself in offering opportunities for young dancers and graduates. Tavaziva tours to venues throughout the UK and internationally, run a postgraduate dance apprenticeship programme, deliver a range of education and training programmes for young dancers, and has been commissioned to make work for organisations such as CAT (Centre for Advanced Training), Association of the African Diaspora, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and Southbank Centre.
