Description

A morning session runs from 11am to 12noon. Come to either/both sessions but book early, only 50 seats! Tickets for each session are £5, reduced to £8 for both.

Line-up: Richard Dinsmore, Nick Mahon, Liz Watford, Rebekha Okpoti - piano

Richard Dinsmore
Richard has established himself as a well-respected pianist in the Manchester area. He studied at Lancaster University initially with John Clegg, who was a student of Herbert Fryer’s, and subsequently with Peter Noke. Richard is developing his repertoire and technique and is strongly focussed on building a successful music career. Richard will be playing: Charles Valentin Alkan: Barcarolle Op.65 No. 6; Chopin Nocturne Op.9 No. 1 in B flat minor

Nick Mahon
Nick took a Music Diploma at Leeds College of Music. He has enjoyed playing solo at venues such as The Cinnamon Club, Altrincham as well as in trios and quartets with gifted musicians from Ribble Valley and the North West. Nick will play a selection from ‘Kiss Me Kate’.

Liz Watford
Liz is an enthusiastic amateur pianist, restarting as an adult in 2008. She enjoys playing a variety of styles, usually Romantic but often including more contemporary works. She is an enthusiastic member of amateur piano groups, from Ottawa, Canada (where she lived from 2010-2013) to groups in Durham, Newcastle/Gateshead, Manchester, Clitheroe and Leeds. She co-organises the Clitheroe Piano Group. Liz's presentation will include: Maria Szymanowska - Nocturne; Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel - Mélodie Op 4 No 2 and Mélodie, Op 5 No 4

Rebekah Okpoti
Rebekah started playing piano at aged 6, entering piano competitions and festivals by age 14. Rebekah came first place in The European Student Convention (UK) and the Russian and Baltic States Convention (Moscow), on both piano and violin. Piano became Rebekah’s passion whilst studying under Susan Bethany. She was awarded a full scholarship to Chethams School of Music, graduating from Chethams in 2012.
