Classical Philosophy Reading Group
Overview
This is the second of our series reading Plato's Republic. In the first session we read the argument between Socrates and Thrasymachus that set the scene for what is to come. This raised many interesting questions from participants. We will continue to address these and more as they arise. We definitely engaged with Thrasymachus' challenge - is "might right" but there is much more to discuss. In this session, we hear from two of Socrates friends who are not convinced by his response to Thrasymachus and demand Socrates go much further to try to convince them.
You do not need to have attended the first session to enjoy this one. There will be plenty of chance to review how far we have come and connect ideas together. We hope to see you at this the second of the series.
