About this event
Doors open 5pm
*Formerly Classical Vauxhall - Glimpses of Light, this event has been updated to reflect a programme change, due to one of the musicians in Amatis Trio testing positive for COVID-19*
Barbican Quartet - James Dong (violin) / Amarins Wierdsma (violin) / Yoanna Prodanova (cello) / Christoph Slenczka (viola)
Let the Barbican Quartet take you on a journey from the beginning of an idea, developing into a world of its own. This young quartet brings life to these timeless works, with powerful performances and an immense range of musical expression.
Classical done differently.
Classical Vauxhall is now in its third year, bringing outstanding new and established artists to Vauxhall. This series is inspired by the visionary Jonathan Tyers, who opened the Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens to make entertainment accessible to everyone.
Funded by Vauxhall One and run by Artistic Director Fiachra Garvey, this year we have expanded the festival to include 5 distinct performances, each with its own theme, spread over 4 days in St Mark’s Church.
So let us bring you back from the depths of winter with a heart-warming classical experience in a beautiful setting.
Should you wish to support the future of Classical Vauxhall and our work with local schools, it is also possible to make a donation. Visit the education page on our website to read more about our work this year bringing classical music to people of all ages and backgrounds. Any donations will help us share classical music with new audiences and the community.
