City Lit presents Classics Day: "At the Edges of Empire", a packed day of talks by City Lit tutors, British Museum experts and guest lecturers, in partnership with The British Museum and UCL.
Journey to the provinces and frontiers of the Classical World in this lively series of talks by leading experts. Examine ancient artefacts from the British Museum's collection, discover literary texts that record life in far-flung regions and outposts, and learn more about life in Roman Britain, Ptolemaic Greek colonies around the Mediterranean and in Egypt.

Our first Classics Day lecture will be dedicated to Elizabeth Teller who recently passed away. Elizabeth taught for over 40 years at City Lit and was instrumental in the creation of Classics Day.
