About this event

We are opening this building in association with Heritage Open Days .

Clavell Tower is a four storey, circular tower standing high on the cliff above Kimmeridge Bay overlooking one of the most striking bays on the Dorset coast. Here is the Jurassic Coast, England’s first natural World Heritage Site, and the South West Coastal Path runs past the door. Built in 1830 Clavell Tower's location has captivated many including writers like Hardy and PD James.

PLEASE NOTE - There is no parking in the village at all. The Smedmore Estate on whose land Clavell Tower stands has a parking area which costs £5.00 (cash only) for the day and this give access to the coast line and to the property. Once parked, Clavell Tower can only be reached on foot up a steep coastal path.
