Clay at Create - Pottery Holiday Workshops for Children aged 7-16

Welcome to my fun-filled pottery workshops at The Create Centre in Bristol, UK! Let your child's creativity shine on July 30, 2025 at 10:00 AM (Europe/London). They'll learn to model clay into beautiful creations while having fun with other young artists. No experience needed, just bring your imagination! Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to get your hands on some clay and make some creative memories.

This event is a lovely opportunity for children to explore their creativity, fire up their imaginations and discover the art of working with clay.

Here’s some children's feedback:

“I loved playing with clay - it feels nice to touch and it’s soft and easy to sculpt”

“It made me feel relaxed”

“It’s really satisfying when you make something you’re happy with”

“It’s a really nice place and you get to play on the wheel”.

Beginners and those with some experience are all welcome. I will guide you through a mixture of techniques and help you bring your ideas to life. You can have a go with pinching, coiling and modelling the clay and have a go on the pottery wheel. Take home what you create at the end of the session.

There will be a theme for each week of workshops or you can work on your own idea.

Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to learn and have fun with other young artists. See you there!

Frequently asked questions

Will my pieces be fired in a kiln afterwards?

No because we will work with clay which dries out to be hard and can be decorated with paints but the pieces will not be washable so they will be decorative rather than functional.

Can I take my pieces home with me?

Yes you will need to bring a box with a firm base (about the size of a small vegetable box) to take your pieces home in.

Will I get dirty?

Your hands will get covered in clay and you can wash them during the workshop. Aprons are provided to keep your clothing clean but it is still a good idea to wear clothes that you don't mind getting some clay on. The clay will wash out of clothing.

Is it suitable for total beginners?

Yes - I work with all abilities and all standards.

Can i park at the location?

Yes there is free visitor parking - you need to collect a ticket from Create's reception.

Can i attend with my child?

This is a session for unaccompanied children. If you feel your child needs specific support and reassurance then do get in touch and we can discuss how I can best support them.

Do you provide lunch if I book a day for my child?

Children who come for the whole day bring their own packed lunch and refreshments.

What will my child be able to create at the workshop?

Each workshop day has a theme, giving children inspiration if they need it. Children are welcome to follow the theme or their own ideas—this flexibility lets them express their creativity while still having structure to lean on if needed.

Is there an age restriction?

These workshops are for children aged 7 - 16
