Event description

Description

We need your help to create 800 clay books for the Knowledge is Power the 6 Towns installation. Join us with Keith Harrison, Peter Jones, the British Ceramics Biennial, other volunteers and members of the public in making clay books that represent books from the 6 Towns Collection in libraries throughout Stoke-on-Trent.

Knowledge is Power the 6 Towns

Stoke Libraries have partnered with British Ceramics Biennial in commissioning leading UK ceramic artist Keith Harrison in the creation of major new work; an interactive and experimental kiln for installation, public firing and performance at BCB 2017.

Keith Harrison has been inspired by the remarkable 6 Towns Collection of local history books held in the libraries in Stoke-on-Trent. The Knowledge is Power the 6 Towns interactive kiln will be a dramatic installation and performance in the China Hall during the BCB festival.

Join us in celebrating the role of Stoke Libraries through this experimental and exciting project.

Suitable for children 8+ and must be accompanied by an adult.
