The venue for the workshop is The Greenhouse Project: a Nature and Wellbeing community space for growing vegetables, fruit & wildflowers as well as providing facilities for bushcraft, craft and woodworking and community events. All proceeds from the workshop will go towards continuing to run and develop this community site.
Workshop activities
Your tutor Chrissie will guide you through the process of building your own unique Fairy House suitable for garden decoration. You will be introduced to a range of methods that will enhance your design skills including building surface decoration and modelling.
You will be using air drying clay, which once dried will be terracotta in colour. The Fairy houses could be painted at a later date, or finished with varnish or PVA glue to create a waterproof shiny surface.
This hands-on workshop is designed for complete beginners—no prior experience needed, just curiosity and enthusiasm!
Practical information
Bring along a clean, empty glass jar to build your house around (approximately 15cm high and 9cm diameter). Please wear practical clothing or bring an apron to keep your clothes clean. Our Greenhouses are unheated so warm clothes may be needed depending on the weather outside.

Hot drinks will be provided, but please bring along snacks, if needed.
