Event description

Description

Air quality, sustainable transport and active travel are pressing issues for Scotland's largest city - vital to improve citizens' health and tackle the climate emergency.

Our Glasgow gathering is free for anyone to attend, bringing together local churches, public bodies, campaign organisations and transport providers from all over the city.

Please register today and have your say on environmental action to clean the city's air, encourage walking and cycling, and improve public transport for communities throughout Glasgow.

Faith groups and environmental campaigners will be able to highlight concerns, engage with policy makers and influence positive action for all of us.

Speakers include Friends of the Earth Scotland air pollution campaigner Gavin Thomson, on traffic causing the worst air quality in city streets - and measures to tackle it.

Barry Watson of Castlemilk Parish Church will share his own experience, relying on public transport and sharing concerns on air pollution through the Church of Scotland and ecumenical Eco-Congregation movement.

Key officials from Glasgow City Council will outline the local authority's transport strategy and steps to reduce harmful emissions in the city centre.

Our panel of speakers will consider a range of questions from attendees before workshops focus on ideas and action to address air quality, improve public transport and promote active travel.
