Event description

Description

This month's Clean Language Practice Group in Brighton will be focussing on Clean Feedback, a great tool that anyone can use in any context. It is particularly powerful in work and business to find out what is happening well, not so well and what could be different or better. It really lands well and is actionable which is what makes the difference with this feedback. We use this method of giving feedback in the moment and also in formal situations with clients, teams and friends and family. In our experience it is the best way of creating clarity for both the receiver of feedback as well as the provider. Like most things in Clean it is deceptively simple and has many layers of subtlety and ways to refine it. We will practice giving and receiving feedback based on Evidence, Inference and Impact.

Come and join us on the 17th July at Clearleft Studios. 7.15pm arrive for 7.30 start. £10 in advance and £12 on the door.

The Clean Language Practice Group in Brighton is run by Rachel Gilmore and Neil Pavey, two experienced and professional Clean Language practitioners who use Clean in Coaching individuals and groups and Facilitation with teams and businesses. We design this practice group to enable people who have no experience of Clean to learn from those who have some or lots of experience. The latter then have an opportunity to develop skills and understanding and continue to learn how to apply Clean in different ways.

What is Clean Language?

Clean Language is a simple set of powerful questions developed by counselling psychologist David Grove. The questions are used with a person's own words to direct their attention to some aspect of their own experience, is content free, removes assumptions and allow a person’s words to be honoured and developed.

Clean Language also helps us focus attention on the metaphors people use naturally to describe their experience. Metaphors help us to gain access to a deeper and embodied level of experience and also to discover more about people’s experience at an abstract and then practical level.

Who is this for?

Anyone who wishes to develop communication styles with people and know more about themselves. Our practice group is attended by an amazing array of people from parents and teachers to business leaders, designers, and professionals in human resources, the health sector and so on. In short, anyone who would like to learn more about this simple and powerful technique and develop their skills in communication.
