Event description

Description

The Nottingham Citizens homelessness team are working with Clean Sheet, a charity working with prison leavers and businesses to offer employment opportunities for those leaving prison. The link between joblessness and homelessness is a clear one, and with some 300 people leaving HMP Nottingham each month, the demand to provide routes into paid work are vital if we are to break this cycle. Clean Sheet's mission is to encourage companies to become a 'Clean Sheet Employer', demonstrating an openness to accepting job applications from those with a criminal record. Employers are invited to join us at NTU on the 23rd March to explore becoming a 'Clean Sheet Employer', with charity staff sharing the many benefits and answering any queries you may have.

About: Nottingham Citizens is a non-partisan alliance of 37 civil society institutions comprised of trade unions, faith groups, charities, housing associations, schools and universities, all working together for the common good of the city. Nottingham Citizens organises communities to act together for social justice and the common good, developing the leadership capacity of our members so they can hold the state and the market to account on the issues that matter to them. Nottingham Citizens is a branch of Citizens UK, the national home of community organising, best known for tackling in-work poverty through the Living Wage.
