Event description

Description

Have you ever wondered how a community is created or what biodiversity means? As part of A is for Apple Project, the artist Jamie Harper undertook an artistic residency at Trumpington Community Orchard in Cambridge. He spent a week getting to know the volunteers running the orchard, the locals and the apple trees. There, he delved into the meaning of biodiversity, cultivation and community today. As his artwork Jamie created a Live Action Role-Play (larp) to immerse the viewers into an experimental live play session about the Cambridge orchard, its systems, its people and its functioning -- and you are invited to participate!

The larp will be taking place on the 26th October 2017 from 6-9pm and will be the closing event of the exhibition Cultivate: 7500 stories at 198 Contemporary Arts and Learning in Herne Hill. Participants will be led by Jamie to co-create a culture and roles that they can subsequently play in a set of improvised actions. The event will conclude with a reflective discussion on any connections between the play activity and the wider world which it is part of.

Come play!

Please note: The experience will not be observed by any external spectators, it is done solely for the experience of the participants. Attendance of the event requires participation, but all participants are free to opt out at anytime. This larp session is open to all, but limited to the numbers available.
