Event description

About this Event

The Seafish-facilitated Issues Groups provide a discussion platform for some of the most important issues facing the seafood industry, particularly in relation to the responsible sourcing of seafood. During the current pandemic Seafish is taking these meetings online.

With the UK seafood industry currently facing a number of significant challenges joined-up thinking and communication across all industry sectors is crucial. This Common Language Group Bite-size meeting provides an opportunity to hear more about current and future fisheries policy, as well as the trade implications of what has happened/is likely to happen over the next few months.

Our three speakers are:

  • Colin Faulkner, Deputy Director, External Fisheries Negotiations & Trade Policy, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra).
  • Elspeth Macdonald, Chief Executive Officer, Scottish Fishermen’s Federation.
  • Andrew Kuyk, Director General, Provision Trade Federation/UK Seafood Industry Alliance.
