These sessions will offer practical ideas & highlight resources to help teachers engage & empower learners on issues around climate change.

About this event

PLEASE NOTE: this will register you for Part 1 ONLY.

If you'd like to join us for both, you'll need to register for them separately.

In this practical session, we aim to help practitioners to:

• develop their own understanding of climate change education within Learning for Sustainability • consider the impact of climate change on humans and what we mean by climate justice• enhance children and young people’s understanding of the climate crisis and empower them to take action for change • reflect on their own practice in developing and promoting Learning for Sustainability• make connections with the UN Global Goals (SDGs), Rights and to COP26.

The outcomes of the session include:

• enhanced knowledge and understanding of Learning for Sustainability • increased understanding of the climate crisis and its impacts• becoming familiar with a range of methodologies and resources to engage children & young people in their learning• increased confidence to explore the topic of climate change in the classroom.

You will receive joining instructions a few days before the session starts. Please look out for an email sent through Eventbrite and one directly from us at the One World Centre.

These sessions have been created for practitioners in Angus and Dundee, but others from Fife and across Tayside are welcome to register too.

Once registered you will receive joining instructions for the online course. This course will be facilitated by the One World Centre, funded by the Scottish Government to provide no-cost high quality Professional Learning in LfS to educators.
