How to get to LSE

Following a summer which has seen huge migration flows into Europe from neighbouring regions, this public event will look at the role played by climate change in this mass movement of peoples.
Mary Robinson (who will be speaking in her role as President of the Mary Robinson Foundation – Climate Justice) will give initial remarks. Alain Le Roy, Secretary General of the European External Action Service and Prof Neil Adger of the University of Exeter will discuss how climate change, through its impact on economic, social and political factors which drive migration, is creating new challenges for fragile populations.
With less than a month to go before the Paris climate conference opens, and in the context of the ongoing migrant crisis, this event is an opportunity to hear from experts on one of the most pressing issues of our times.
The event is the last in a series of Franco-British bilateral conferences being held in the run-up to the COP21 summit in Paris in December.
Individual presentations from each speaker will be followed by a discussion and an audience Q&A session. The event will be followed by a wine reception.
We very much hope to welcome you to this event!
