Tue 8 November 2016, 12:00 – 14:00 GMT
This special day is celebrated in 30 countries on 4 continents. It recognises the planning role in creating livable communities, and how it impacts many aspects of our daily life.
A fascinating look at planning from both local - and global perspectives. Our sustainability challenges in Chelmsford are also shared by cities in the UK and in other countries. What lessons can we learn from them – and they from us?
Through online Webinars and Local, face-to-face workshops, various practical actions for Engaging, Collaborative, Innovative and Creative solutions to city issues are explored, e.g. Local Food, Transition Towns (Sustainable Energy and Housing for all, including Gypsies/travellers) and Neighbourhood Planning.
Including talks at Anglia Ruskin University by Prof Tony Hall on 'The Robust City', and Dr Julie Futcher on tall buildings and urban climate - "Planning with Giants".
