Climate Change: Science & Society

About this Event

A free online symposium designed to facilitate networking between researchers working across different disciplines with an interest in climate change, society, and sustainability.

Organized by early career researchers at the GW4 universities of Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, and Exeter, this two-day event will address three broad themes: impacts of climate change, mobilizing societal change, and sustainable solutions. It will consist of short talks and panel discussions with invited speakers, as well as posters on these themes. There will also be the chance for participants to join break-out discussions on five key topics: cities, energy, transport, food, and health.

The symposium aims to bring together both early career researchers and more established researchers to discuss the many challenges spanning a wide range of disciplines that are associated with global climate change. We particularly encourage participation by scholars who identify as Black, Asian or an Ethnic minority, who are often marginalized in debates about climate change.
