Event description
Come along to hear why thousands of people are taking non violent direction action to address climate change.

About this Event

Members of Extinction Rebellion Cambridge will share the latest climate science on where our planet is heading, discuss some of the current psychology around climate change and offer solutions through the study of social movements.

This talk is based upon PhD research on effective campaign mobilisation, and experience which so far has led Kings College University London, Cardiff University and Bristol University to agree to divest from fossil fuels.

Everyone is welcome. There will be plenty of time to ask questions and you'll hear about the recent international rebellion.

Arrive from 6.45pm for 7pm start of talk.

The talk will be in the Lower Hall at St Paul's, it is wheelchair accessible and there is a wheelchair accessible toilet on site. This venue has padded seats available.

Tickets are limited due to seating capacity at the venue - if you book a ticket and then realise that you can't make it, it would really help us out if you could release your booked tickets so that others can come.

-------

This is an emergency. The deadly heatwave that gripped the world over the summer is only a glimpse of what is to come if we do not properly address the crisis. The government and environmental NGOs have failed to do so. We need to build a mass movement that is prepared to accept what is happening and act accordingly. We need change. We need to rebel.
