Event description

Description

Stories of the climate crisis have dominated the news in 2019.

The chaos represents a failure of our stewardship of God's creation. But what can we as Catholics do?

Pope Francis highlighted the need to care for our common home in his groundbreaking 2015 encyclical Laudato Si'. It's a document most Catholics have heard of but which few have read. Yet the issues it raises are of crucial importance to all humankind.

This day of reflection and prayer will see Dr Sara Parvis (School of Divinity, Edinburgh University) lead discussions on Laudato Si', helping you understand the key themes of the document. The Rev David Coleman, of Eco-Congregation Scotland, will then look at practical steps you can take. There will also be input from representatives from Justice & Peace Scotland.

Please bring a packed lunch.
