This autumn, join us for Climate communications for COP and beyond – a new online mini-festival designed to equip you with the skills and confidence to harness the momentum of COP.

As one of the most significant moments in the global climate calendar, COP shapes policy, attracts significant media attention, and creates opportunities to influence public opinion.

Across four expert-led sessions you will gain practical tools and fresh insights, across topics including understanding and tackling misinformation, crafting messages that inspire action and creating compelling climate content.

Why now?

We know that getting the story right on climate change has never been more crucial. With COP just around the corner (10–21 November), the stories you tell, the platforms you use and the messages you share are essential in reaching diverse audience and building support for bold climate action.

Charities and campaigners have a unique role in inspiring people and holding decision-makers to account. By taking stock and boosting your communications skills now, you’ll be ready to lead the conversations that matter throughout this year’s COP.

Why join?

If you’ve ever struggled to cut through the noise, tackle misinformation, or make the most of big moments like COP, this festival is for you.

Each session is designed with the realities of working in charities, NGOs, CICs, and community groups in mind. Across four expert-led sessions, you’ll gain:

  • Strategies to counter climate misinformation with confidence
  • Insights into public opinion on climate change
  • Tools to craft climate messaging that resonates and inspires action
  • Practical tips for creating climate content that cuts through on TikTok
  • Access to resource libraries, blogs, and one-page session guides

Who should attend?

This online festival is perfect for communications, media, social-media, campaigning or strategy professionals in:

  • Charities and NGOs - regardless of whether climate action is your main cause
  • Community or grassroots groups
  • Social enterprises and CICs
  • Environmental or wider social-impact organisations keen to integrate climate into their messaging

Agenda

Session 1: Understanding and combatting climate misinformation

Thu 16 Oct 2025, 11:00–12:00 · With ECIU and Dr James Painter

With climate disinformation a key focus of this year’s COP, this session will equip you with the tools, skills and confidence to better understand and tackle climate misinformation. Led by sector experts, the session will cover the evolving landscape of climate mis/disinformation and give participants clear strategies to build trust with evidence-led, credible communication.

Session 2: Public opinion and climate change: What do people really think?

Thu 23 Oct 2025, 11:00–12:00 · With Climate Outreach

This session will share key findings from Climate Outreach’s cutting-edge research, Britain talks Climate and Nature (described by Ed Miliband as “mandatory reading”). You’ll explore how people across Britain think and feel about climate and nature- and learn to craft compelling climate stories that build support for bold action on climate change.

Session 3: Making a climate TikTok for impact

Thu 30 Oct 2025, 11:00–12:00 · With VideoRev

Discover how to create short, shareable videos that land with impact. This hands-on workshop will help you make TikToks that are credible, relatable, and spark real engagement.

Session 4: Winning hearts and minds: Climate messaging that cuts through

Thu 6 Nov 2025, 11:00–12:00 · With Heard
