About this Event

FROM CARBON CONVERSATIONS TO CITIZEN’S JURIES, WHAT CAN WE LEARN FROM WHAT’S HAPPENING ELSEWHERE?

The climate emergency is here and we need to act fast and act together. And yet many people, entire groups of people have been left behind and left out of the conversation about climate impacts and what we do about it.

Conversations are one of the most powerful tools we have for creating large scale and inclusive change, and is something we can all take part in. But not all conversations are created equal - we need to learn and practice a different way of talking about climate change, one that empowers and unites us in our commitment to act, rather than driving us apart.

This session is an opportunity to explore together how conversations create social change; how conversations change the way we think; how we can have conversations about the climate crisis that bring in those previously left out, invite them in to the conversation, in to the movement, and empower them to engage and act, while simultaneously building the social fabric we need to navigate peacefully through a dramatically changing world. Susannah has spent the last five years thinking about, working on and facilitating climate conversations and conversation workshops and will bring learnings from her work in Australia.
