About this event
Do you want to understand more about the climate emergency and build understanding and skills to make a positive difference in Scotland?
We are working with Skills Development Scotland on an exciting programme of training to help with the transition and upskilling required across Scotland’s future and existing workforce to help key sectors respond to the Climate Emergency and transition to a net zero society.
This training programme will offer the following courses:-
Sector-specific training for anyone living in Scotland, who is over 25 years of age and working (or has previously worked) in the relevant sector (please ensure you meet all eligibility criteria listed at the bottom of this page).
This sector course will be for Transport.
All courses will follow a two-part modular structure as follows:-
· Part one: An introduction to climate change/ Climate impacts and adaptation
· Part two: Reducing emissions (mitigation)/ Climate action and communications
The training consists of one day’s worth of learning (eight hours), which will be delivered online over several sessions, using a combination of live sessions and self-study activities.
The Climate Emergency Literacy Skills - Transport will take place on:
Wednesday 8th June 2022: 10:00am - 12:30pm
Wednesday 15th June 2022: 10:00am - 12:30pm
The training will be accredited to meet the Carbon Literacy Standard, which is verified independently by the Carbon Literacy Project and successful participants will receive a certificate in Carbon Literacy.
Eligibility Criteria
- You live in Scotland
- You are over 25
You are not:
- subject to an employment restriction on your stay in Great Britain
- subject to a funding restriction on your stay in Great Britain that would apply to the National Transition Training Fund in Scotland
- in custody as a prisoner or on remand in custody
- on any other employment, education, training, or enterprise programme funded by any UK and/or Scottish Government department and/or SDS (subject to any exceptions published by SDS from time to time). Among these programmes would be the Modern Apprenticeship Programme
