This free course gives those working with young people an understanding of climate change and the tools to help young people take action.

About this event

This free online course is for youth workers and those working with young people. It will provide you with an understanding of the climate emergency and equip you with the skills and tools to help the young people you work with take climate action.

We are running this course repeatedly over the next few months. This page allows you to book onto the course running for a full day on Tuesday 15th February 2022.

COP26 in Glasgow has shown that young people are becoming more aware of and involved in tackling the climate emergency. Those working with young people have a key role in helping them to understand and navigate the challenges that come with it. This training will give you the confidence and knowledge to do this.

This course is accredited by the Carbon Literacy Project and successful participants will receive a Carbon Literacy certificate. Becoming Carbon Literate gives lots of opportunities to enhance youth work practice, to engage young people, build their skills and confidence and amplify their voices in different ways.

This course consists of three sessions over one full day. There is also some learning to do in your own time.

Session 1 – Introduction to climate change and youth work

Session 2 – Climate impacts, climate justice and adaptation

Session 3 – Climate action and communication

This Climate Emergency Training will take place on:

Sessions - Tuesday 15th February 2022.: 9.30am – 5pm

*By booking your place on this training you are committing to attending the full day.

This training is part of the COP26 Scottish Youth Climate Programme which is being delivered in partnership between Young Scot, Keep Scotland Beautiful and YouthLink Scotland and is funded by the Scottish Government.
