Climate Fresk Online (in English)

Climate Fresk is a fun, powerful workshop that helps people quickly understand climate change — and take action at both personal and business levels.

Born in France and based on the IPCC report, it breaks down the causes and effects of climate change in a way that's clear for everyone, whether you're a beginner or an expert. Over 1.2 million people have taken part so far, with 50,000+ becoming facilitators themselves.

How does it work?

In just three hours, you’ll work in small teams to piece together a “fresk” — a visual map showing how different aspects of climate change are linked.

Here’s the flow:

🔹 Introduction: Learn a bit about "Climate Fresk" history and do an icebreaker exercise.

🔹 Discovery Phase: Your team connects 42 cards showing causes, effects, and consequences of climate change. Think of it like a giant puzzle — you’ll discuss and figure out the links.

🔹 Creative Phase: Once your fresk is complete, you decorate it (with online tools), making it your own. This step helps reinforce what you’ve learned emotionally as well as intellectually.

🔹 Debrief Phase: We’ll have an open discussion on how it made you feel, what insights stood out, and what actions we can take — individually and collectively. Throughout the workshop, you'll receive guidance whilst we make sure the conversation stays flowing and inclusive.

It’s collaborative, eye-opening, and surprisingly energizing. Most people say it changes how they think about climate change — and what they want to do next.

Practical Information

🔸 We use Zoom. You'll receive the link a few days before the event.

🔸 We also use Mural. This is a virtual whiteboard. You'll receive the link to the board a few days before as well. Please check out this short video on how to use Mural and get familiar with it before our workshop: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lU2Rlzh462M

🔸 Please join the Climate Fresk 5-10 minutes before the start so you can check your connections to both the whiteboard and Zoom.

🔸 Make sure that you have a good internet connection and a mouse or trackpad so you can use the whiteboard. It is not good with a smartphone. You will also need to work on the whiteboard and have Zoom open at the same time.

Your instructor Victoria Walker has over 20 years of experience advising organisations through complex transformations.

She has worked in 30+ countries to advance social impact, governance, and environmental performance. Her expertise is backed by degrees in law, environmental policy, and international development management, along with GRI certification and training in sustainability management, CSRD, AI governance, human rights, and climate change.

A former Assistant Director, Head of Country Office, and army officer, Victoria believes in teamwork, participation, and shared ownership to drive sustainable change.

She is a member of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainable Leadership network, We Build Bridges for Climate and Sustainability and Toastmasters Sustainable Speakers. She is a trained facilitator for Climate Fresk workshops.
