Event Information
About this Event
Join activists from Global Justice Now’s Youth Network and GJN - University of Birmingham for this interactive workshop, the event will be an opportunity to learn about youth activism, and also an opportunity to look at movements of climate justice.
The event will be hosted by Global Justice Now - University of Birmingham and is open to anyone under 30.
‘Climate justice’ has become a buzzword in the climate movement. But what does it really mean?
This workshop looks at why the climate movement must take into account our economic system and how it created and perpetuates climate change.
We’ll understand why those who are least responsible for climate change are suffering the gravest consequences. But we will also look at how people are fighting back by demanding social and economic justice and how we can all stand together to fight for climate justice for everyone.
The second half is an introduction to Youth Activism and is led by an experienced social and environmental justice activists ready to share their experiences. This will be interactive! We will meet each other, explore different forms of protest and talk about how and what to get involved with.
Are you up for getting involved in the global fight for justice?
Now is the time to get organised, get skilled up and build a more powerful movement for change.
