Description

Are the barriers to providing electricity to rural villages simply an engineering hurdle or a social problem?

Join us for a presentation and panel discussion on achieving access to electricity in rural villages. This seminar will focus on the theme of the human right to a decent quality of living.

The presenters are Aran Eales from University of Strathclyde and Jake Wilson from Glasgow Caledonian University. Aran's expertise is in renewable energy, international development and environmental sustainability linked to engineering and education. Jake Wilson's expertise is in the picosolar lighting market in Malawi. For the panel discussion we have Mubiana Muyangwa joining us and bringing in expertise in coordinating and managing development projects in rural areas in developing countries.
