This workshop is open to everyone in Carstairs Junction and the surrounding area—residents, families, local businesses, community groups, and anyone interested in building climate resilience together

Yes, please reserve your spot through Eventbrite so we can plan seating and refreshments accordingly. The event is free, but spaces are limited.

What will we do at the workshop?

We’ll explore the local climate challenges facing Carstairs Junction (like flooding or drainage), share ideas for solutions, and work together to identify one or more potential community-led adaptation projects supported by the Climate Ready Places grant.

Yes! Free light refreshments will be available throughout the workshop, with family-friendly options.

Absolutely. The event is family-friendly, and we’ll have activities suitable for all ages including Free face painting.

The workshop takes place at the Wooden Hut, 6 Strawfrank Road, Carstairs Junction, ML11 8PP—just opposite the rail station & behind Station Hotel

Yes, the venue is on ground level and accessible for prams, mobility aids, and wheelchairs.

What should I bring?

Just bring yourself and your ideas! If you’d like, bring any photos or thoughts about climate-related issues you’ve noticed in the village (e.g. flooding spots, blocked drains, heat, or damp).

The workshop is hosted by Soul of the Junction SCIO and funded by the Lanarkshire Climate Hub through the Climate Ready Places grant.

Your input will shape a community-led climate adaptation project. We’ll follow up with a summary and invite everyone to take part in the next stages, including a Climate Action Festival in September!
