The premier forum for business during the UNFCCC COP19, Warsaw Poland
 

For the first time this year, World Climate Ltd. and the World Business Council for Sustainable Develpment are collaboarting to provide a complementary series of activites over two days alongside the 19th annual UN Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC COP) and create the largest business platform for debate and action, being CLIMATE SOLUTIONS 2013.

These two days bring together business, global institutions and government leaders to discuss solutions, actions and policies to mitigate and adapt to climate change.

Warsaw will mark the halfway point from the decisions in Durban to a climate change agreement in Paris in 2015, when a global deal will be adopted.

CLIMATE SOLUTIONS EVENTS AND THEMES

The two days’ activities will focus on actions and solutions to climate change:

Day 1: The World Climate Summit on The Road to Paris – This day will focus on providing key public and private sector solutions and a business process to complement a Global Deal in Paris. Key drivers discussed will include finance enabling, energy transformation, sustainable innovation and Public Private Partnerships (PPPs).

Day 2: The WBCSD Business Day on Climate Solutions in Action – Focused on Big Ideas from business to contribute to closing the ambition gap and longer-term solutions, and the convergence of activities and agendas which will be critical for a successful climate change agreement in 2015.

  • Plenary sessions to address major issues (Ministerial & CEO-level);
  • Brainstorming sessions, to exchange and promote projects and solutions;
  • Roundtables and workshops for in-depth discussions;
  • Bilateral meetings between the public and private sector; and
  • Networking opportunities at lunch and cocktail receptions.

World Green Economy Summit

WGES is an initiative of Dubai Water & Electricity Authority (DEWA) and will be held under the leadership of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, in conjunction with WETEX2014, the leading water, energy and environment technologies exhibition in the region since 1992.

WGES will be produced in association with Dubai Green Economy Partnership and supported by its influential network of members and international partners from the public and private sectors.

 DEWA has appointed World Climate Ltd. as the leading event consultants. WCL produces the World Climate Summit series held in conjunction with the UNFCCC COP series and operates out of London, Brussels, New York, Copenhagen, Geneva and soon Dubai.
