Taking on the challenge of Snowdon will inspire you and be a massive personal achievement that you'll gain huge satisfaction from, and we'd love for you to raise funds to help the Ichthyosis Support Group continue our work providing factual information and practical guidance to individuals and families affected by ichthyosis. Join #TeamISG for this amazing challenge! Details of how to do this will be in a confirmation email (please check your spam/junk/clutter folders for this and follow up emails) .

The Ichthyosis Support Group (ISG) is the only UK registered charity helping individuals and families living with ichthyosis, a rare incurable genetic skin condition of which there are many forms, varying in severity and appearance but all characterised by severely dry scaly skin. In severe forms the condition can be fatal for neonates, and life with the conditon can be challenging. Caring for this chronic skin conditon requires care and treatment throughout each and every day for life. The skin must be kept highly moisturised at all times to prevent cracking and tightness which can be very painful. Patients require regular hospital appointments within a multidisciplinary team to treat not just the skin, but also the associated complications with the eyes, ears, hair and genetic diagnosis. Ichthyosis is a very visible condition and in additon to any physical distress caused, those affected by ichthyosis may face psychological issues and in some cases develop mental health problems.
The ISG provides support in many ways - bringing adults and children together to share experiences, providing reliable information, access to medical experts - a community where people do not feel so alone.

We look forward to climbing Snowdon with you!
