The role of the clinical supervisor, even when occupied by a junior trainee, is complex and demanding, but it contributes directly to safe and effective patient care both now and in the future. All doctors, from FY1 to consultant, may find themselves supervising junior colleagues, medical students and trainees, including those undertaking clinical assistantships.
This workshop and round table discussion will discuss, explore and suggest ways in which excellence in medical education can be fostered and developed at all levels. It will address issues of particular concern for those junior doctors who are currently less well supported in teaching and training than their more senior colleagues.
The Early Careers Working Group of the Academy of Medical Educators, which is leading this workshop, is made up of trainees and junior doctors with an interest in, and commitment to, supporting colleagues in developing excellence in medical education for the benefit of patients.
3 Category one CPD points are available for this meeting: ref 86006.
This event is followed by the Academy of Medical Educators' Annual General Meeting, to which all members and fellows are invited.
