John Wilson will interview Els on her recently published book on supervision. Topics include: what is supervision; how to ensure that supervisees get what they need; how the 3-Step model of supervision can incorporate other models; acknowledging the context of people’s lives in therapy and supervision; importance of decolonisation within the helping professions; adaptation of the 3-Step model into a continuous spiral that can be used as a decolonising tool; the importance of becoming climate aware practitioners.

Els van Ooijen
Until two years ago Els had a counselling, psychotherapy and supervision practice for several decades. She co-developed and taught a postgraduate diploma/MA in consultative supervision at the University of South Wales for nearly twenty years. Els is a member of the Climate Psychology Alliance and an Editorial Board member of the CPA’s online journal Explorations. Currently her focus is on writing and running workshops on climate issues and decolonisation.
