Who is the course for?
For clinical staff who have completed previous clinical supervisor’s training. This is a chance to refresh knowledge and to share experiences.
By the end of this support forum you should be able to:
- Indicate what being a clinical supervisor means.
- Define the five key aspects common to many definitions of clinical supervision.
- Discuss the reasons for clinical supervision identifying the benefits to the participant and the organisation.
- Explore how we incorporate the three key components of the operational framework into clinical supervision
- Remind yourselves of the reflective component of clinical supervision and explore different models of reflection.
- Explore techniques utilised to encourage supervisees to explore their feelings.
- Discuss some barriers to clinical supervision.
- Revise the clinical supervision policy and procedure.
- Discuss how we evaluate our own performance as clinical supervisors.
- Identify safe and effective record keeping methods.
- Recognise the importance of emotional resilience in self-care.
