Description

On Sunday 1 September the eleven ocean-racing yachts which make up the Clipper 2019-20 Race fleet will depart London to start the twelfth edition of the world’s biggest yacht race.

Now you have the chance to order on-water front row seats to see the fleet parade along the Thames.

The official spectator boats will offer friends, family and race followers a unique chance to see the departure of the Clipper Race fleet from St. Katharine Docks.

The official spectator boats will be on the water for a maximum of four hours. There will be no stop-off points during the voyage. Once full, each spectator boat will leave the dock and wait in the vicinity of Tower Bridge as the yachts prepare for the parade down the Thames. We are expecting that the spectator boats will leave the fleet around the Thames Barrier.

Light refreshments are available to purchase on board. No external food or drink will be permitted.

Will I be on the same boat as my friends?

Yes you can but you will need to arrive and queue together to ensure you are on the same boat.

How long will the cruise be?

You will be on the water for a maximum of four hours. There will be no opportunity to get off the boat during the cruise. A full itinerary should be available early July.

Are there toilets on board?

Yes all of the boats have toilets.

Is there disabled access?

Yes, most of the boats do have disabled access. Please arrive at the earlier boarding time and make your way to the front of the queue so that we ensure you are able to board.

What is the cost of each ticket?

Adults £15.00, Children (under 18) £7.50, infants (under 3) free.

All those going on the boat require a ticket, as regardless of age everyone counts within the vessel capacity limits.

The maximum number is ten per transaction. This will not ensure that you are on the same boat. You will need to arrive and queue together for this.

Can I take my own food and drink on board?

No, you are not able to take your own food and drink on board. There will be light refreshments available for purchase. More detailed information on snacks will be available ASAP.

What is the itinerary?

Boarding will be at 1500. This means you will not be able to witness the fleet slipping lines from the marina as you will already be on the water.

There will be an Alumni Race Crew member on board with you who will be able to keep you informed of what is happening on the river.

Once we have the final itinerary we can give more detailed information regarding the fleet parade.

You will return to St Katharine Pier between 1900 and 2000.

How many spectator boats are there?

Currently we have seven spectator boats booked. Depending on popularity, this could increase.

Will any boats follow particular teams?
