Share Clipper Race: Race Start Spectator Boats

Event Details

On Sunday 1 September the twelve ocean-racing yachts which make up the Clipper 13-14 Race fleet will depart London to start the ninth edition of the world’s longest yacht race.

Now you have the chance to order front row seats to see the fleet parade under Tower Bridge and along the Thames from on the water.

The official spectator boats will offer friends, family and race followers a unique chance to see the departure of the Clipper Race fleet from St Katharine Docks.

The spectator boats will be leaving from two locations close to St Katharine Docks, where the Clipper Race yachts will be berthed.

SPECTACTOR BOATS:

SALIENT
The flag ship of the fleet is M.V. Salient. The largest and most spectacular vessel of the Crown River Cruises fleet. The Salient with its large windows gives an excellent panoramic view of the London skyline.

SAPELE
M.V. Sapele is a purpose built passenger vessel for the River Thames. It was constructed in Holland in 2006. She can accommodate up to 250 passengers in comfort with a lower saloon seating area and the open upper deck seating.

MECURIA
M.V. Mercuria is a purpose built passenger vessel for the River Thames. It was constructed in Holland in 2006. She can accommodate up to 250 passengers in comfort with a lower saloon seating area and the open upper deck seating.

SARPEDON
Built in 2001 at Great Yarmouth m.v. Sarpedon is one of the most up to date tourist passenger boats operating on the River Thames. She has a passenger capacity of 400 with seating in the lower saloon and a open upper deck.

M.V. EDWARDIAN
The M.V. Edwardian is the epitome of classic elegance and style from that famous bygone era. Built in 1985 by Sir Richard Branson, and annually refitted to our exacting standards simply no expense has been spared in her interior design and furnishings. Her most unique and enjoyable feature must be her vast open upper deck.

P.S. ELIZABETHAN
A warm welcome aboard The P.S. Elizabethan. This perfect replica of an 1890s Mississippi Stern-wheeled Paddle Steamer beautifully reflects the style and craftsmanship of that bygone era. With a sliding roof, two spacious decks, a unique upper-deck promenade walkway and an experienced professional crew she is in a class of her own.

P.S. DIXIE QUEEN
Welcome aboard the 'Dixie Queen', London's largest entertainment, conference and party boat. Holding up to 620 guests. A stunning $10 million conversion into a luxurious replica of a 19th century Mississippi Paddleboat. She sets new standards for style and the sheer quality of her interior.
