Two young, Black brothers from the inner city of Manchester have dreams of becoming professional dancers. Weaving together poetry, rap and hip hop choreography, we follow the brothers as they build friendships and relationships and try to succeed in the face of adversity.

'Closer to my Dreams' is a playful, heartfelt take on family and friendship, exploring how we respond to the trials and tribulations life throws at us, and knowing when it’s best to hustle or just let go.

About the Company

Chad Taylor started dancing from the age of 11. Training in the foundations of hip hop, and at 14 years of age started to widen his dance vocab and doing other styles such as ballet, Tap, and Jazz, His professional experience started at a young age of 15, where he appeared on TOTP and CD:UK.

At the age of 19, He graduated from the Hammond school with a National diploma in dance on a Full Scholarship. He then went on to work in the professional world working with artist such as Cheryl Cole, Paloma Faith, Sade, Take That, Meatloaf, Joe Mceldry, Little Mix, LMFAO. He has worked with Choreographers such as Fatima Robinson. Has performed at the X-factor final at the O2 Arena, Brit Awards and the Royal Variety Show.

Chad is now Assistant Director at Shockout Arts.

Please arraive at The Charis Centre 15 minuets before the start of the performance. The performance will take place at the Charis Centre Gardens . The entrance to the gardens can be found here, just off Town Barn Road (RH11 7EB)

Limited Parking is available at The Charis Centre. Access the car park via Town Barn Road

Public Transport

The Charis Centre is a short walk from The Crawley Hospital Bus Stop (2 + 3). Bike racks are available in the car park.
