Closing Event & Artists Talks: Lockdown Residency Exhibition
Event Information
About this Event
Artist and co-curator Lisa Pettibone will present a series of talks with the exhibition artists. Sharing stories of how personal thoughts & creative processes were affected during Lockdown (March - June 2020), both familiar & surprising scenarios are sure to emerge. A Q&A will follow. Celebrate their creative efforts & join in the discussion.
In late March 2020, as the seriousness of a global pandemic unfolded, artists around the world had to adapt to new spaces and routines while facing the emotional and financial stresses experienced by most of society.
UK-based Finnish artist Meri Lahti proposed a geographically distant but collective residency providing a loose structure for artists to reflect on their experiences of lockdown.
The resulting online exhibition charts the creative responses of 18 international artists through: painting, drawing, graphic design, photography, embroidery, animation, visual poetry and video.
Participating artists:
Allison Barclay-Michaels, Bekk Wells Çaglar Tahiroglu,
