Event Details

Following on from the successful joint CELCIS and SWS event in October 2014, Dr Melissa Van Dyke will return to Scotland to explore with colleagues in strategic roles how implementation science can support and sustain best practice in service development and organisational change.

We will explore the Active Implementation Frameworks, addressing each of the elements for success. Participants will become familiar with this methodical approach to the purposeful, active and effective implementation at all levels of the system. This session will review and build on the content of the October 2014 event.

An interactive session focusing on the obstacles to tackling inequality and reforming public services will follow. Participants will consider how the processes and principles of implementation science can be applied in this context and contribute to the delivery of more effective services for looked after children and those on the edge of care.

Melissa Van Dyke, PhD, LCSW is Co-Director of the National Implementation Research Network (NIRN) at University of North Carolina. In this role she provides implementation science expertise while leading and coordinating community, state, and federal initiatives to support effective practices in mental health, child welfare, education, criminal justice, and early childhood. She has provided leadership on numerous projects to build capacity of federal, state, and local partners to support effective implementation of evidence-based and evidence-informed programs and policies.
