Description

The Equality and Diversity Forum and Cloisters warmly invite you to our seminar, Closing the Race Employment and Pay Gaps: Levers for Change.

The recent Cabinet Office Race Disparity Audit threw into sharp relief the extent of race employment and pay gaps in the UK.

This seminar will focus on how we can work together to achieve policy and behaviour change, hearing from leading experts in these fields.

Here's the agenda (pdf).

An interactive panel session will provide space to explore opportunities for progress through knowledge exchange and collaboration with colleagues working on disability and gender equality.

It will explore drivers such as the Industrial Strategy, and the Shared Prosperity Fund, and opportunities for new thinking offered by interdisciplinary working.

Chaired by Professor Shamit Saggar, Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor Research, University of Essex.

Keynote speakers:

• Daphne Romney QC,Cloisters Chambers
• Zamila Bunglawala, Deputy Director, Cabinet Office Race Disparity Unit
• Omar Khan, Director, Runnymede Trust

Panelists confirmed so far include Dr Tessa Wright at QMUL; Rosie Wallbank, Principal and pay gaps lead at the Equality and Human Rights Commission, Sonali Parekh, Head of Policy at the Federation of Small Businesses and Michael Paul, Disability Rights UK.

The seminar is organised by the Equality and Diversity Forum and our Research Network, in partnership with Cloisters Chambers. We’d be delighted if you could join us and our invited audience of policy-makers and influencers.

And if you're not able to attend, and would like us to invite someone else in your organisation instead, please email Tracey, our Network and Communications Officer.
