About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

Join Ealing Repair Cafe on Sunday 21 September at Ealing Central library, in Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre for mending. All levels of sewing welcome, from beginners to advance, there’s always something new to share or learn. Our volunteers will be on hand to teach you how to repair your clothes. You can pick up one of our darning and patching guides.

3-4 pm: Mend and Natter: Bring your clothes mending pile to learn and be inspired how to mend them. Ealing Repair cafe will teach you how to repair and upcycle your clothes. They will have samples, sewing equipment to get you started and help you breathe new life into your wardrobe.

On the same day, from 2-3 pm there is a family Activity. You can make your own bracelet or key charm out of old t-shirts. It’s so simple all the family can make one too. If you have some unloved t-shirts, please bring them along to donate.

Bring along clothes that need mending for some helpful suggestions from our volunteers on how to fix your items.

We ask for a small donation, £4 for the session to cover costs of equipment and expenses.

Organized by

Ealing Repair café encourages the mending of clothes and textiles. We want to get more people valuing and wearing their clothes for longer and to move away from fast disposable fashion. We run friendly monthly gatherings around Ealing, giving suggestions and show examples of repairs done by our community. We ask for a small donation at our events to cover costs and suggest a £4 donation.
