Event description

Description

More and more companies in Europe are accepting "The Cloud" as a viable option for their IT systems. We've seen the demos and announcements of how easy and seamless these systems can be implemented, but all know that these are "perfect" single database demo scenarios. The real proof is seeing a "real" system working in the cloud, or at least hearing about real systems that have migrated.

Join Andre and William as they take you through the steps required for an end-to-end migration of an entire on-premises SQL Server environment into Azure. Along the way, they will cover the usual pitfalls that they have encountered in the preparation and execution stages of system migrations. This will also include a wide range of concepts that, while not revolutionary, are extremely important to understand before moving to Azure and include: PowerShell, Azure Automation, Templating, and Infrastructure as Code.

You will leave the workshop with a clear understanding of how to assess your environment with regards to an Azure migration. You will know which options are available to you and be able to answer the specific questions surrounding a possible move of your databases to the cloud.
