An extrordinary exploration of contemporary Amercian Choral music in one day!

18:00 - Free Foyer concert given by New Leicester Youth Chorus of choral minatures by tonight's featured composers. Conducted by Festival Chorus Artistic Director, Willard Welsford

18:45 - Pre-Concert talk with discussions and illustrations about the works we are due to hear.

19:30 - Concert: Cloudburst!

Countesthorpe Festival Chorus

This Festival Chorus was started in 2000 with its roots in the Music Department of Countesthorpe College. A Handel Messiah and an Orff -Carmina Burana were the two projects of that year involving well over 400 students and singers from the Community. Subsequent collaborations with soloists and orchestras have given rise to works performed by Rachmaninov, Brahms, Grainger, Monteverdi, Rossini and John Surman.
