Description

CLT Lunchtime Hub: Implementing Online Exams

Across the higher education sector, both here in the UK and further afield, there is a wave of movement towards the revamping of exams and a transition to online solutions to digitise assessments more broadly. Scandinavia is a particularly strong leader in this and very informative in the piloting of solutions at Brunel University London, the LSE, University of Oxford and the University of Bath, amongst others.

Join Rowan Cranwell, TEL Solutions and Project Manager in the Centre for Learning & Teaching,as she talks about the piloting of a solution at Bath offered by Norwegian-based Inspera. The semester one trials, which have included formative tests and summative exams ranging from 6 to 286 students, and from one to ten venues, have been encouraging and useful in informing a direction of travel.

Rowan will seek to address the questions of why and how we are trialling online exams at Bath, as well as offer observations about the sector as a whole and local observations from the pilot thus far.

She will be joined by Donald Lancaster, School of Management, one of the pilot's kick-starters, to offer an academic preparation and marking perspective.

Light lunch available from 12:15.

For more information about the pilot, read Rowan’s blog here.
