Club Captain's Weekend
Sat, 25 Mar 2017, 09:00 – Sun, 26 Mar 2017, 16:00 GMT
To help Scottish Club Captains better steer their club during their tenure in office, Scottish Golf will be running a Captain’s Weekend at which club leaders such as the Club Captain, Vice-Captain and their Club Secretary/Manager are invited to explore best practice in club governance & leadership, and enjoy the opportunity to network, dine and golf with other club leaders.
The Captain's Weekend has become an annual event hosted by Scottish Golf after two successful events in 2015 and 2016. Scottish Golf embraces its obligation to help prepare a Captain or Vice-Captain for what awaits them in office, and give them the best possible chance to succeed. With that in mind, Scottish Golf acknowledges the difficult task that Club Captains have and will endeavour to provide clear guidance and local examples of best practice that club leaders can effectively put into practice within their own club.
The two day training is due to run on the weekend on the 25th and 26th March at Striling Court Hotel in the grounds of Stirling University. The training will cost £199 per delegate, with this including one nights accommodation at Stirling Court Hotel, breakfast, lunch, an evening meal, a game of golf and all course materials. Well respected speakers will be presenting on both days, with Saturday including dinner and entertainment in the evening and Sunday concluding the training with a game of golf available in the afternoon. Club Captains are encouraged to attend the training along with their Club Manager to help put into practice what they learn throughout the training.
